Values Project
Students at UMass Hillel experimented with focusing on the following core values to help define and create a culture of Jewish values at our Hillel, in our community and on campus:
Limud - Learning and Growth: We seek to manifest the Jewish value of life-long learning and continuous growth of the individual, organization and community. We aim for the Jewish learning to be an ongoing element of our community, both through explicit and implicit Jewish education, and to create a culture that values questions at least as much as answers.
Tikun - Repairing and Restoration: We strive to do our part of fixing what is not working, facing challenges directly and seeking to turn obstacles into opportunities. We seek to creatively engage that which we discover needs repair in our relationships, organization, communities, campus and world at large.
Chesed - Caring: We seek to act with caring and compassion towards ourselves, others in our community, and to extend acts of caring to others in need.
