MOVIE DOCUMENTARY: "A Hero in Heaven"
To commemorate Israeli Memorial Day, on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 @ 7 PM, in the Hillel Front Lounge, the UMass Student Alliance for Israel (SAFI), a Registered Student Organization, will be hosting a screening of "A Hero in Heaven."
The movie is a documentary about Staff Sgt. Michael Levin, from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, who moved to Israel in his teenage years. While serving in the Israel Defense Forces during the conflict that Hizbullah started in the summer of 2006, he was killed by terrorists.
This event is co-sponsored by SAFI, Jewish Student Union, KHH, and the Department for Judaic and Near-East Studies

ISRAELI FILM "THE TROUPE" (HALAHAKA, 1979)
The Ultimate Yom Ha'atzmaut film! "The Troupe" is the comedic story of a group of Israeli soldiers who are organized into a singing group to raise morale for the troops. The music defines Israeli culture in the 1970's and stars major singers such as Gidi Gov, Gali Atari, Dafna Armoni, Dovale, Tuvia, Heli, Susisa, Liron Nirgad, etc.
